  • Compare Solid modeling with Surface modeling
  • Types of Surfaces

Graphical User Interface

  • Introduction to GUI of Surface Design workbench
  • Learn to use Extruded, Revolved and Lofted commands
  • Create Boundary, Fill, Freeform and Planar surface
  • Use of Delete, Extend, Trim and Replace commands

Surface Design of Component-1

  • Create Curves and Wireframes using 3D Lines, Points, Planes and Splines
  • Create 3D Corner and Projection Curves
  • Create surfaces based on wireframe geometry
  • Create Swept surfaces and Blend features
  • Create wireframe features using existing curves and surfaces
  • Connect surfaces using Split, Trim and Join commands

Surface Design of Component-2

  • Create basic wireframe and surface
  • Create surfaces using Lofted, Filled, and Extruded surface
  • Join surfaces using Knit surface
  • Add thickness to surface

Pre-requisite:  User should be a Mechanical Engineer and should have completed SOLIDWORKS Part Design course. The recommended version for practice exercise is SOLIDWORKS 2019 and above.

Training Method: Instruction based and Hands-on practice.
