  • Standard sheet sizes
  • Dimensions Terminology, Dimensioning Rules and Types

Graphical User Interface

  • Enter the Drafting workbench
  • Understand the GUI
  • Place views using Standard 3 View tool
  • Model View tool
  • Projected Views
  • Place new views using Auxiliary View tool
  • Create Section Views and Detail Views
  • Use of Removed Section tool
  • Add Broken-out Section
  • Use of Break View, Crop View and Alternate Position View

Annotate the drawing

  • Import Dimensions and Annotations
  • Use of Annotation commands
  • Add Weld Symbol, Hole Callout, Datum Feature and Datum Target
  • Mention the Geometric Tolerance
  • Create Blocks
  • Add Center mark, Center line, Area Hatch/Fill, Revision Cloud and Tables
  • Sheet Format tab

Drafting at part level

  • Place different Views
  • Set the unit format
  • Select Display State and Scale for the drawing
  • Add Dimensions

Drafting at assembly level

  • Learn the different methods to enter the Drafting workbench
  • Create different views of the assembly
  • Create Broken-out section View, Break View, Crop View
  • Add Balloons to the drawing
  • Insert Bill of Materials Table
  • Insert Revision Table

Pre-requisite:  User should be a Mechanical Engineer and should have completed SOLIDWORKS Part Design and SOLIDWORKS Assembly Design Courses. The recommended version for practice exercises is SOLIDWORKS 2019 and above.
